We go there once a month or so. They have great breakfasts.
Many people just assume that rural areas are filled with idiot rednecks, but there are quite a few interesting characters hanging out in the woods. I think we are all cosplaying at being rednecks or something. Your friend is a good example. One of our neighbors is a retired engineer from a large company that did work for NASA. His unassuming old red barn looks like a mad scientist's lab inside. Your waitress has probably heard it all before...

And yeah Marcus is just up the 25 from town and one could probably very easily drive right past it without realiznig it was a place.
As regards the waitress, then my friend who is always in jail tried calling me from jail and I was complaining to Doug because it's not like in the movies where your'e just asked if you'll accept a collect call, you have to either call a phone number and fight through a phone tree or go to a website and either way leave a minimum of $20 on an account and hope they call back so you can use it or its lost.. pretty bogus really. So yeah then I was complaining about that and the waitress was like "oh who is it? I might know her!" and Ii was like oh no no she's way down in southern california.
But anyway I love how much history there is to the area!
