I did the Sydney-Brisbane road trip once, but I was on a Greyhound. Not as ideal, but I do remember seeing many of the sights you described. Would love to be there right now.

Stayed a couple nights in Newcastle and Byron Bay. Was going to stop in Coff's Harbor, but didn't have enough days. Still got to see the giant banana though. I seem to remember seeing a giant pineapple somewhere, too.

Haha yes I hear that is north of Brisbane. I'll have to see it one of these days!

How was Newcastle? It looked like a cute town.
