Monday -- after much procrastination I finally left the boat and hitched a ride into Davis. There I ate my favourite dish in the entire world --firecracker pork fusilli at Fuzios--, and bought a train ticket down to Modesto (via Sacramento). he could tell, like the other guy, by what, the knot? kind of weird, no? how you keep bumping into these guys.

Admittedly there was also my seabag aaand the fact that my shirt had a square on it, followed by the words "rig sailor" (as in square rig sailor). The first guy hadn't actually noticed my shirt yet and was in fact primarily going after the turkshead. The turkshead is a pretty good sign though, the overwhelming majority of traditional ship sailors wear them, and conversely hardly anyone who isn't a sailor wears one. The first guy also had a turkshead.
