My journey home began around 10am on Sunday, at which point I disembarked the ship for the last time, while on deck my erstwhile shipmates sang out the ship's traditional (and rather vulgar!) farewell song

The funniest thing is that there are plenty of coffeeshops in Aberdeen. PLENTY. Hell, at the very least, there's a Starbucks right across the street from the Wal-Mart.
Aberdeen is a sad little town. My in-laws live about an hour north of there off the 101, so we drive through it quite often. There's some pockets of nicety, though, just like any other old industrial town.
By the way, the 512 Park-n-Ride is just down the street from my house. It's where I caught the same 594 on Saturday morning. :) Glad to hear your travels went smoothly from there.
Heh. So it's likely that it was just that this person I talked to had no interest in coffee shops and therefore didn't think there were any. I found it hard to believe a town could exist without any coffee shops.
