Anakin had been staring off into space. He shook his head, trying to clear it. "No," he said. "Yes. Maybe. It was very confusing. She was there, but she wasn't what I was focused on."
He swallowed hard. "I was too late," he whispered. "I was always too late."
Anakin rocked himself a little. "Too late to save anyone," he said, his voice barely audible. "Obi-Wan, my mother, you..." He shook his head. "I was always too late."
"And see, the bigger the hair, the shriller the girl," Rory added. "It's a well-known fact. This is why I am so very rarely shrill, since my hair is all smooth and nice except for lately when the humidity makes it huge and frizzy and bad. Hence why I may seem more shrill."
Yes, she was babbling. Yes, it was because she wanted to make him smile. No, she didn't care how idiotic it made her sound.
"Yes, yes he is," Rory said. "Oh, and he was a total gentleman and offered to give me his shirt while I was stranded in the hall, and looked away and everything. And it wasn't funny, by the way, being stranded in my undies. Just in case you thought it was. Though thankfully it all matched, yay."
"I don't think it's funny at all you were stranded in your undies," Anakin said very seriously. "Sorry I wasn't around to give you my key."
He blinked, suddenly reminded that he had been too late for that, too. "People don't actually break into song like this, right? I mean, if they're not on this island?"
"Yes, Anakin, they do," she replied completely seriously. "They also dance on cars and there is clever background music that picks up in the background, too."

He stared at the wall, lost in the visions he had just seen.

She returned to bed a couple seconds later as it percolated, and carefully touched fingertips to his arms. "Does this have to do with Parker?"

He might've moved George a little closer to him, too, but he'd never admit it.

"Ownership papers. Oh. No, I think those are kept somewhere in the Archives," he said. "Everything is kept in the Archives."
