... I think this may be my favourite thing ever.

I saw that you'd answered the prompt over at the meme, but I thought that I'd comment here instead. For something you wrote in such a short space of time it really is very clever - the idea that Sherlock and John are not 'real' but have been brought in to ensure the continued survival of a police force was both interesting and unexpected. Over all a thoroughly enjoyable story!

Well done, I enjoyed it. Though I was expecting that we'd find that it was an artifact of the universe getting rebooted by the Pandorica: that it got this one thing just a bit wrong, and made them real people instead of fictional characters.

I do wonder, though: without Sherlock Holmes to kick off the love of detective stories and set the mold, what about later great detective stories, particularly English ones? What about Agatha Christie, and Dorothy Sayers, and all the rest, who were extremely influenced by the books?
