The inability to walk in heels (at least the skinny kind, and not a nice, broad clog base) really hinders the search for some nice boots and/or closed-toed shoes to wear to a wedding ( Read more... )

It's hard to say without seeing the dress, but are leggings an option instead? Thinking about it, those might be a bit too casual, actually.

Of course, when you say "chilly" I think 40-50F.

It looks a lot like this dress: http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?Br=F21&Category=DRESS&ProductID=2000021512&VariantID= but with cap sleeves, and a ribbon around the waist with a black...rosette, I think is the word? And it's longer. 'Cause...yeah.

I think I may end up wearing a pair of my mom's boots. They're not particularly dressy, but they are at least black, and faux-fur lined so that they'll keep my toes nice and toasty. And it would mean I could just wear socks, and not tights. Because leggins would probably be too casual. And on the off-chance the weather's actually warm, I can bring my sandals along as back-up.
