Dear Authors,

I am a birthy woman and I love reading books that have babies and birth in them. However, it's SO EASY to tell which authors have actually had children (or you know, DONE RESEARCH) because the births in the other books always go exactly the same. Ditto to all of the above! As my very first paid job ever was my mom's assistant at her Lamaze classes, I've suffered from massive eye-rolling at the above type scenes since I was 12. :)

Just watched the last 15 minutes of Father of the Bride 2 this afternoon . . . so I'm feelin' this. The movie did manage to portray a labor 'false alarm' (no big deal, go home, continue business as usual) and a woman experiencing regular contractions for a while but dealing perfectly competently with other things (her daughter being in labor) through a good chunk of the first stage ( ... )

HAHAHA. RoseE, if anyone ever needed evidence that you are my best friend, they need look no farther. ;)

I know doulas who sneak food and VitaLyte into the hospital for their clients when the nurses aren't around. The nurses and doctors always compliment these lucky mamas on their stamina.
