Doctor Who: Grand Review

Jun 20, 2011 22:53

I've done it! I started Doctor Who a little more than a month ago, and I have caught up all the way till 6.07. And it's been a hell of a ride!

I feel rather empty already. What am I going to do after dinner every night, if not bung myself in front of my lappy and watch another 2 episodes (3 - 4, when insomnia strikes) of DW? *bites nails*

Anyway. ( Read more... )

fangirling, doctor ten, doctor nine, episode reaction, doctor who, doctor eleven

True. It still seems later like she's undecided - or Rory seems to think that she's undecided, anyway. But what really bothers me in that episode is the Doctor. He says he needs to "sort [Amy] out," and that it might be the most important thing in the universe. I think he deliberately released the psychic pollen. I think that's why he saw his dark!self reflected in the TARDIS console - he'd just lied to and sort of manipulated Amy and Rory. But I'm not sure, and something about that whole scenario doesn't sit well with me.

Well, according to Wikipedia, 6.07 was supposed to be a mid-season finale of sorts, and series 6 was going to resume with the remaining 6 episodes in September. >.> I really hope that's the case. :/

I hope so too! D: I really want to find out what happens to baby Melody. Poor kid. If she is indeed the same little girl from The Impossible Astronaut, we know she gets to look forward to being raised in an abandoned orphanage with a crazy guy and some creepy aliens, being trapped in a super-spacesuit, and nearly dying on the streets at least once. And her mom trying to shoot her and not recognizing her, that too.

Although one thing I'm curious about - River seemed very surprised by the super-spacesuit and how whoever was in it could break out. If she is Melody and if Melody is the little girl, you'd think she'd remember breaking out of there. Unless her memories of her previous self are fuzzy or something, I suppose...

Well, she does say she was arrested for "killing a good man; the best man [she]'d ever known." I think we can safely presume that "good man" here means the Doctor.

... I don't know. Maybe her memory's fuzzy. Maybe she's deliberately hiding things. Hopefully we'll get to know later this series.
