You know, Nara certainly has an unhealty obsession with fire for a city full of ANCIENT WOODEN BUILDINGS. There was the whole "let's burn down a mountain, yay!" thing in January, and the first two weeks of March are spent waving flaming torches from the balcony of Toudaiji's Nigatsudo, to the delight of the thousands of people watching below ( Read more... )

hey emma lee... my pics suck from omizutori. the police came around and were shouting at me and 2 men with our tripods out and ready. "put it away, put your tripods away!!!" as the crowds got bigger, one man left and the other put it out again, this time in a "don't cross this rope" area. not that he could have gotten good pics since there was a big tree in the way. ones i've posted are the non-blurry, public viewable ones.

Bad pictures are better than none, at least. I really need to go out this month and get a digital camera, so I can start taking photos again. I miss it.
