So, how are you enjoying life in this land of beer and cheddar?

Apart from being poorly the last week (!), I generally love it. The hardest thing getting used to is that webdevs are paid around half as much in London as Silcon Valley. This is once you figure out what the actual cost of living is, what other types of jobs pay, etc.

I have shops just a short walk from my front door. In my building is a pharmacy, a great chip shop and a smoothie shop (which are thin affairs here, just like English milkshakes). Another 30 seconds takes me to a turkish shop, a booze shop or a dry cleaner's. And the markets are just the best for shopping at.
