Good gods Emma. Am I really reading you think you're a failure? You had an injury, not a blister, or a pulled muscle. A bloody ful on injury.

And you kept going. Excessive slowness? Man I can't drive 42k without being exhausted. If it took you 42 days you would not be a failure.

You get up and train. You keep on going. You've just won a raft of crafting prizes that you may not have won if you had spent more time pounding the pavement.

You can bring your running to the table. Yes you are so much more than that. But even if you didn't, the running you bring to the table IS so much more. It is tenacity, it is overcoming struggle, it is an 'i don't care' attitude, it is the difference between fitness and image, it is an inspiration.

Christ, if you are a failure then most of us may as well shoot ourselves now.

I never said it was a rational belief :) It is, however, the noise in my head.

(I also don't apply my standards for me to anyone else on the planet.)

I know all of that response. Initmately. But it doesn't stop others being inspired by your actions, your attitude and your accomplishments. :)

I thought you were interesting before you even took up running! You're awesome, with or without marathons. Xoxo
