I got my confirmation for ALA student membership last week. So I told my boyfriend I am now an official member of the American Library Association because I got my official "card". He asked if they sent me my free pocket protector too.
Yes, the stereotypes are there, but alas, they always will be, and I can only laugh at the jokes at this point.
Looking at the orientation schedule, I really hope we're not going to spend a whole afternoon during one of the orientation days learning how to use a friggin' computer. I'm curious to see how many people are in our cohort, demographics, etc., and it'll be interesting to realize that orientation is really the only time I'll probably ever see the rest of my classmates!
