post-holiday, but still: i think you give it to charity to eat, or eat it yourself. and you can definitely use other types of birds if you want, since it's all a symbolic replacement for a goat anyway (which i can't imagine anyone swinging around their head.)

weird custom, for sure: i've never done it, but it might be fun, someday.
