I love qualitative studies for the sheer fact that they can turn nothing into something. Honestly, I'm reading a study/awesome article right to present about law as presented in Judge Judy and the Peoples' Court. This person watched TWO HUNDRED HOURS of TV! It's purpose is discuss the difference views of law in Judge Judy and the People's Court, and how the American reality tv craze has influenced viewers there and all over the world to believe certain things about the law. They also wanted to show that the ratings for each show demonstrated a shift from the law is the law kind of view, to something more dramatic (aka Judge Judy), and who the show was aimed towards - women and racial minorities, etc and how it perpuates stereotypes about civil law as being the private sphere of life combined with the fact that women watch more daytime television ( ... )
