New fandom!

(Technically two since this decision means I'm going to start writing Torchwood as well.)

To any new readers coming from the DW fandom, welcome! I'm a Fourth Doctor girl from childhood who got sucked into Nine via my F-list and pushed headfirst into Torchwood by my lovely slashwife melissima. I've not seen any Ten yet and I'm holding off for now until I get fully caught up on Torchwood. (I've seen all of Season 1 and none of 2.) I can't imagine anyone being better than Tom Baker or Christopher Eccleston, but I'll see if I can get over my apprehension of David Tennant at least enough to watch the episodes where Jack appears.

I actually wrote The Spark last year as a gift for nina_ds, but never officially published it since I wasn't planning on adding DW to the rather lengthy list of fandoms I've committed to write regularly (okay, not quite regularly, but you get the picture). I had just started to watch Nine and wanted to try to capture a tiny bit of that lovely Nine/Rose chemistry I saw from the start. I had really liked CE in ( ... )

Yay! Fly little fic, fly!

I loved this the first time around, and now I love it again. So sweet and tender and just right for Nine and Rose. :) I'm so happy that their fans will get to read it.

That's rather cute! I don't think Rose would have taken it well had she woken up, but for needy Nine, even she'd make allowances once she'd stopped flipping out. XD

However, your disclaimer's... tl;dr, so I didn't read it all. I promise to read your stuff at my own risk, though. ;)

Your disclaimer had me worried, but I trusted the PG rating and plunged right on ahead. Beautiful little scene between Nine and Rose her, just perfect for their dynamic--the sweetness, the tension, the innocence that somehow doesn't strip the relationship of its sexuality. Love it!

(P.S. I do love Ten, never mistake that, but Nine was my introductory Doctor, so he'll always be my favorite. Plus, IMHO, the Nine/Rose dynamic will always be sexier than the Ten/Rose dynamic. We're a noisy minority in fandom.)

Thanks for the reminder. My disclaimer's been up since 2005 and it needed updating. I do want to get people's attention since I tend to write some pretty intense stuff at times and I don't want minors or overly sensitive people to get offended by blanketly reading all the fic. I have hundreds of PG13 and under fic, but the harsher stuff is really harsh at times so it's worth it IMHO. Thanks for giving me a chance though.

Thank you so much! I recently got into a discussion about the Doctors being asexual, but I can see how easy it would be to write Nine/Rose het despite the lack of actual canon to support it.

While I certainly don't mind some harsh stuff in my stories or a little kink in my smut, there are a few lines I just won't cross. I appreciate it when writers are up-front about potential squicks.

New Who has pretty much put paid to the notion of the asexual Time Lord. I mean, not that the Doctor's taken to sleeping his way around time and space, but he flirts like nobody's business, keeps getting snogged (mostly by blondes), and it's even possible to see the Doctor/Rose relationship as becoming sexual by the end of S2 and make it work in canon.

Die-hard Nine/Rose 'shippers are a bit of a minority among New Who fans. Most Doctor/Rose you see will be Ten/Rose, and I do like some of it, but one sure way to draw me in is to promise me some Nine/Rose. For some of us, there's just no substitute.

Thank you. You're very kind to say that. I'm looking forward to enjoying writing Nine dialogue in the future.

*sighs* Oh, Nine.

I loved it. I loved how wistful it was and wrapped up he becomes in her.

And DT as the doctor is fun, I adore him but at heart I am CE girl. There was just this something that he brought to the Doctor.

And welcome to the fandom! The finales will make you cry, both DW and TW.

They owe me for my therapy.

Galadriel! Nice to see you back again! It's been ages. So here's yet another fandom we have in common, eh?

I'm glad you liked this, I admit to being a bit nervous, this being such a long-standing fandom and all.

Yes, I fear DT will lack the nuance and gravitas of CE, but I have to give him a chance at some point. I mean, I like Jack too much to skip any episode he's in. /grins/

Nine's was very sad indeed - bittersweet even. Torchwood's first season finale was quite satisfying at the end so I'm glad I took the plunge and started watching/writing that too.

Thanks for coming back to read!

Yes, don't you love it when people on your flist have more than one fandom in common?

I think you captured Nine's angst perfectly, there was just something about him that made me want to coddle and protect him.

And Jack. I must say Jack made it very easy to steal my little fangirl heart. And with Jack, they became my OT3, because seriously? That was just hot.

Just be sure to have a blankie or friend with you when you watch the S2 finales because I bawled like a baby. Even ten minutes after.

And it is never a hardship to come back and read your stories.
