I cried a lot the first few weeks after Pip was born. Nursing was going SO badly, I was hardly sleeping, then I had the trip to the ER, gall bladder removal, pain meds which I was told I couldn't nurse while on, so I tried skipping the meds and hurt a lot, broke down and sobbed at my postpartum checkup when they said "no, you can nurse on those" because of being in pain and not sleeping, had to come back two weeks later to prove I didn't have PPD and the doc said "you know, it's OK if you stop trying to nurse, you've tried for 2 months and it still isn't working, it's really OK to stop." And then wrog and I got to trade nights for sleeping and feeding, and suddenly I was sane again.

There is something truly enchanting about the idea of sleep spinning.

I'm sure there is a fairytale there somewhere about the princess that each night is forced to spin dreams into magical thread.
