Thanks! When I said I'd finished uploading pictures (rest are here), I meant I'd finished uploading most of them - we had so many of the highlands and other scenic areas that I ended up just choosing some!

Looks like you had good weather! It rained pretty much the whole time I spent camping on Orkney, when a young child. My memories are rain, Short Eared Owls and Hen Harriers, rain, Skara Brae, and rain :-)

Have you read The Boy with the Bronze Axe, by Kathleen Fidler?

Well, at least you got to see the owls and hen harriers :) We were lucky with the weather, there were gale force winds on the last day but luckily we'd already done the cliff walk by then :) And when it rained other times it was only for fairly short periods of time.

I haven't read that book...I will add it to The List.

It was an extremely interesting holiday - ancient ruins, nature and whisky!
