Dragonfly pool

On the weekend I had a treat - a new book by Eva Ibbotson! The dragonfly pool is a children’s book set in Europe just before world war two. There are lots of elements in the novel that felt like classic Ibbotson to me. A young heroine who is kind and thoughtful and adored by her family. Oh, i want to read it! But thanks for the warning about the underwhelmingness of it, I will probably wait to diminish my TBR a bit, her last novels were lovely but not quite as good as my utter favorites.

BTW have you ever read A Song for Summer? It´s also about a school, it´s one of the less romantic of her adult novels and not one of my utter favorites ( Countess and Morning Gift probably are) but it´s the one I want to reread soon!

I feel the same way about A song for summer - it was lovely but not a favourite (mine are Countess and Magic Flutes).

I will read and enjoy it anyway. I really like A Song for Summer because although I am aware of its flaws, it was my first adult Ibbotson, and therefore my first love of her books.
