Tummy

I'm not someone who has strong feelings about plastic surgery. The only time I ever think about this is when I see a celebrity who has done some very obvious work and then I'm all "who are they kidding?" I don't think I'll ever do anything to my face--including Botox--but that is something I can say from my perch of genetic privilege. My mom had ( Read more... )

I am so intrigued, and more than a little jealous, as my pouch has been there since birth. No matter how thin I get and how great I feel, it is that pooched area that gives me pause and makes me feel awful. I am cognizant of it 24/7 and am relegated to clothing that conceals it as much as possible. You and I have similar body types...and similar body type goals/aspirations...so I am very curious of the procedure and how you look and feel after. Good luck and godspeed, and for god's sake, please report back! Bonne chance!

Oh, you are much sleeker than me, honey. But thanks!

I'm looking at April for the procedure (if all my health insurance paperwork moves through the pipelines correctly) and of course I shall document everything here!

It will be nice to have a flat tummy, especially for summer holidays. JM and I are going to California. I cannot imagine what it will be like to put on a bathing suit and not be all sucking in my gut.

One thing I didn't mention in the post is the scar. You end up with a scar that goes from hip to hip, dipping down to your pubis. It is really thin and can be covered up with something as small as a g-string. I have no issue with the resulting scar, and in fact, am thrilled as they will be removing the vertical scar I've had since my c-section (first born). So basically I'm swapping one really thick and visible scar with one thin, fine one which will fade and turn white with time.
