Oh thank you, glad to hear that. :-) And of course, no secrets about the technique. Most of the images I posted here were made analog with my 25 year old Canon AE1. I use expired color films, Fuji and Kodak mainly, often double exposure. Expired films provide wonderful colors for me, kind of unreal sometimes. After scanning the prints I expose the images to digital crossing (which simply means more contrasts, gradation and light). This one above is barely manipulated, only lightened and sharped because my scanner didn't do a good job.
i agree--excellent quote also-you really captured the "meaning" ;) of the quote with your image-that that some is clear some is not-and the bright over-glare of attempting" to illuminate clarity--well...for me-the image speaks the quote nicely
I'm glad you see it so, Andrea. This image I made a couple of days ago, analog with my old camera. I got the prints on Thursday and I was busy as a bee through the Easter holidays with scanning. And when I saw this one, at that moment I knew it deserves a quote of my favourite wise man. And after a while I've found this one appropriate. Thank you very much for your words. :-)
:) i must look up de mello learning about so many thing i have yet to see and read- lj is a great way to discovery tho i must admit-i have a hard time keeping up with all i want to see and learn here! but-this has been true even before lj... but i do love that there is no end- a bit like "meaning"-or that which is beond meaning... it sounds like you had a wonderfully productive holiday :)
De Mello was a wonderful thinker. I love his works very much and can recomment to anyone who likes meditative texts. His words are wise and still understandable, easy to read short stories, you'll enjoy it, I promise. :-)
Any holiday that provides free time is productive for me. *lol* Really, I was scanning about 50 prints which takes a DAMNED lot of time, and that I can hardly efford when I work regularly. This is the only thing I hate about analog photography. With a digital camera it's much easier and faster.
I think, spending so much time on internet also has the MEANING to learn. To learn new people, new thoughts, new ideas, new ways. The worlds became so small, we have to take advantage of it. :-)
i love this picture - and the quote! For me it's about " being", not about refecting about being. And yes, "meaning" is a mind concept and it's also limited to what you can see as " meaning-ful" from where you stand......which always is a very limited perspective as we know....
Thank you Claire! :-) Hope you had a good rest and sleep and you're doing fine. Yes, of course, "meaning" can never be objective. What I like the most on this image is that in front of the pure chaos the the enlightened leaves stay clear in the centre. This at least I should transfer for my own life as a meaning. :-)
