Last night, essentially all of my friends went to a party. I didn't go because I found out that I was intentionally not invited. Apparently, the hostess doesn't like me because she thinks that I'm intimidating. I. am. intimidating. Aww, I'm so sorry, Emily. It seems like you just can't catch a break lately, and I really understand that, because it seems to be the same thing for me lately.

I've had people say the same thing about me before, too...and I'm always thinking what? little me, intimidating? And for me, I think it's because sometimes I'm quiet and a bit shy. What is really just lack of confidence apparently comes across as being cold or distant. Could that be the same for you, too? I don't know. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry. Just trying to make you feel better.

Is it because you're intelligent? disciplined? beautiful? eloquent? talented? loving, patient, devoted, kind? or maybe because you have impeccable taste and fashion sense? or one of the biggest hearts of anyone I've ever even heard of? Probably!

In any case, f-her.

Take it as a compliment. As has already been pointed out, you are beautiful and intelligent. You have a certain... I don't know... grace about you. Not everyone gets to see the vunerable side of you. Otherwise, I would totally be intimidated by you, too! That aside, the non-invite was still uncalled for.
