Quantum of Solace, or, the standards of behavior at the opera house have rather declined of late

I have finally, belatedly gotten around to seeing Quantum of Solace.  I understand that the general consensus is that it is not as good as Casino Royale, but for my part, I am of the opinion that this second chapter offers more fun.

With that said, I shall now proceed to complain about it.

About a third of the way into the movie, there is a scene

On the other hand, though, a fellow hotel-worker buddy and I both really appreciated how well Bond treated the front desk agents he came in contact with. We both remarked about over dinner. That's gotta count for something, no?

But, after he behaved politely to the front desk agents, didn't he then proceed to make a right mess of his hotel room? And crude oil over the furnishings has got to be a pain to clean up.
