I stayed in Costa Rica for my honeymoon. We stayed in San Jose, Tabacon Hot Springs Resort, Monteverde, and at Punta Islita Resort (its fabulous!) the plane tix are cheap, the people are great and so friendly, and the food is pretty yummy!

Anyhow, on the northwest shore there is an all-inclusive resort that you should check out- its supposed to be great. I will look for the name, but i would suggest going all inclusive. The Punta Islita resort also have a honeymooners package (even if you aren't honeymooning) that is 4 nights and includes a couples massage, one activity (we did the horseback riding) and a romantic dinner, very nice.

We're actually going to Costa Rica in April/May. We're staying at the Marriott Los Suenos Resort located outside of Jaco. Everything I've heard and read about Costa Rica has been wonderful. There seems to be a lot of activities, but also beautiful beaches, pools and hot springs.

Although-- all the places you listed above look and sound wonderful too!! Good luck with whatever you decide!!

Em-

CR is amazing...I could go on and on, but it is VERY hard to get around there and you will most likely have to use any number of transport to get to the beach. That being said, if you are up for it, I'd recommend Manuel Antonio. We stayed at Si Como No and it was fab. Also El Parador is v.v. nice. But you know...if you are going to schlep all the way down to CR, I would want for you to stay longer and see more and do more, and that would require moving around which I know you don't feel like doing. Plus, the beaches in MA didn't knock my socks off. The best is in Tamarindo (hard to get to...)

As for Curacao....AMAZING. Romantic. You know those fab beach pics I posted in my recap lastnight? Those were from The Royal Sea Aquarium beach resort. It was a slice of paradise. It's removed from the cute part of town though. Actually, now that I think about it, there probably aren't any real nice hotels located right in the middle of the town...Hum....Is Curacao easy to get there though?

I found the name of the all-inclusive. Its called Paradisis Playa Conchal. We met a couple at Punta Islita hotel that was going to stay there for a few nights- it looks great. Also, i think you can fly right into the Liberia Airport and its just a quick drive (cab or shuttle) to the resort.

also- if you do end up in CR - you have to try the Guaro Sours! Like a Sweet lemon/limeade, but with Guaro, which is a cane sugar liquor - very yummy!

I think that Old San Juan can be Very romantic. And the FOOD is Delish!
Stephen and I went to Curacao, we stayed to Breezes it was nice AI but only a couple of food choices. I thought that the food there was much better than Sandals.
We visited Marriot that was great, I wish I could remember which one. I don't remember it being on the beach. It in near a cove though. We rented jet ski's there.
Gambling is SO inexpensive, we went to the casino every night.
I thought that the shopping was good to. We bought a David Yurman bracelet for 25% off and a couple of Citizens Eco Drive watches for $150 each.
