I know. Oh my GOD I know. X___X This entire situation just DOES NOT COMPUTE. It's as though the industry learned absolutely nothing from the collosal pile of failure that was the Airbender movie -- which, by the way, is STILL a situation that makes me cringe and shudder whenever I think about it.
Akira has everything to do with Japanese society and culture. This casting and setting (Neo-Manhatten, what the HELL) scenario just makes me desperately sad and frustrated. And I LOVE how Warner Bros is probably all like, "Whee, making a movie with an assured fanbase! We will make so much money!"
I hope this movie tanks.
