So, when I entered Avatar: The Last Airbender fandom, I was convinced that Jet/Zuko was not going to be my cup of tea. And then I found sodomquake 's journal. Her epic Jet/Zuko story, told through 'Crossing' and 'Float', has such achingly perfect characterization that it made my heart sing. It made a convert out of me. :D So here is some podfic! How many pieces are you to break the chapters of FLOAT into?

Oh, bless you! Thank you ever so much for coming back and commenting! I know it can be difficult to motivate oneself to do so, but especially as this particular story is from a rather obscure fandom, I really appreciate it. <3 Podfic is so lovely, isn't it? I'm so glad to be able to accompany you to the city and make your day a little brighter. :)

Great question! As I've never had occasion to record/post such a large story before, I asked from fellow podficcers what they thought the best course of action was. Most responded that posting the story all at once would be the best course of action, so that people would bother to listen to it (some people do not enjoy listening to works in progress).

How do you think I should break it up? I value your opinion a great deal as well. :)

I just recently became acquainted with Sodomquake's works and they are lovely to read, good timing on my part, right? Just when you decided to launch the pod-rific version of it. =D

I'd say, for simplicity's sake, go for the giant haul and CLEARLY mark when chapters end in a memo attached to the download page(eg. @ 27:36 Chapter Two ends), I've chopped up your podfic of "Crossing" into parts: Night and Day..

It should be more or less the same difficulty to make the rest of the chapters read as an audiobook on my Ipod, with the 'skippable' included. Keep up the magnificent work!!

One last thing.... Have you recorded, or thought of recording the original ending of "The Crossing"? Because I LOVED IT.. So raw, powerful, meaningful and flexible. If you have personal reasons for not wanting to, I understand, but I feel your tone and warmth would give it a very tantalizing, unique sound, between somber and sanguine. Give it some thought and let me know what you decided to do.

Okay, I so remember you mentioning that this one had some porn in it, but then I listened to it during my world development lecture and realised that it was, in fact, entirely comprised of porn. I listened to the entire thing, wondering if anything else was going to happen, but it didn't really.

On the other hand, you read it very well! A little patchily recorded in places, but nothing major (this was one of the first things you did, wasn't it?).

I highly enjoy your podfic. Please to record more :D

Ha! Yeah, this first bit is basically all pr0nz. Its sequel actually gets the plot on, though: after the first two chapters, the amount of sheer porn decreases greatly. AHAHA YEAH SORRY ABOUT THAT. :S
