you've hit the nail on the head.
this is not about making life easier for mandarin speakers but erasing our heritage and history.

when we first started building new towns we were happy to call them Toa Payoh and Ang Mo Kio. but then Nee Soon became Yishun, Peck San became Bishan and Au Kang became Hougang. Now they are trying to change the old names too!

we should fight this.
