Haha, glad something got you to watch again. :) What killed me about that somewhat Chlark scene (and why I didn't mention it) because it felt more like a look what never happened reminder, which was like the do you trust me scene in collateral but at least collateral had other Chlark moments to make up for that. Then again, it is nice to see that they don't ignore that tension/chemistry that is still there, it feels a lot like "in another world" type of situation.
Lois' prominence at the Daily Planet really seemed to start at the beginning of S9 when the other two executive producers left for Melrose Place. They seemed to need to rush her push to make it feel more Superman I guess.
I don't follow the Batgirl parallel. Are you talking about when she died and was hung up by Black Mask? Wait. She wasn't Batgirl then. . So I'm completely lost? o_o
Batgirl vol #3 when she had to battle against Scarecrow and her hallucinations, first against Tim and then against herself (as Spoiler) and at the end. It just reminded me so much of that, which isn't surprising given Bryan Miller wrote it lol.
Oh wow lol I had no recall of that issue at all outside of remembering Scarecrow. If Miller wrote the episode than I can definitely see how you connected the dots, nice catch.
That's interesting, for the most part I like his Batgirl handling but disliked a lot of this episode.

I like when Chloe kicks ass, but I agree with you--It was just too much. I liked when Chloe would scrap her way through things.
And I'm so surprised at how exalted Lois is! I mean, I may have missed quite a bit of development, but she's suddenly Lois Lane extraordinaire lol.
The whole sins thing reminded me an awful lot of Steph!Batgirl. Did you see the parallel too?
