And they're definitely the show we all know and love!  The episode wasn't one that I'll go back and watch over and over, but it didn't need to be - it was a great conclusion to the storyline they set up last season, and a great teaser for what's to come.

I've only seen it once, so I'm sure I'll miss a few things, but these were my favorite bits:

Okay, I was hesitant to start watching again this season (but I've watched them all and I feel obligated), but competent!Tony and awesome Vance will definitely get me on board. :)

I've been seeing very mixed feedback, which kind of surprised me. Competent!Tony and Vance's awesomeness are enough to make it worth it, though, even if you end up not being crazy about the rest. :-)

I personally enjoyed the storyline, but I mainly watch the show for the characters, and they were right on target in this ep. That alone would have rated at least a "good" from me!

Competent!Tony! No gray "fat" suit for MW! the end of the mexican storyline! Normal banter between the team without snarks or being mean! Gibbs smiling!

Someone has been really listening to the fan complain during the summer. Let's hope is not just Gary Glasberg.

Now just go back investigating Naval related crime and I will be an happy fangirl. ;)

I only disagree with you about Vance. I still can stand him. I want a director who stays in his office doing is job, not waltzs in the bullpen and works in the field, paired with Gibbs. ah! (basically I want director Marrow back ;))

You pretty much touched on everything I liked, but couldn't focus on in my own post. LOL I'm haven't been able to come down from just the fact that the show's back. LOL

I totally agree with the end of your #7. He needs some meat back on those bones!

Definitely excited about the new plot lines coming our way too!
