I followed the link and thought it said Don't try to see black: it is better to imagine concrete. I spent a moment picturing 1960s buildings and multi-story car parks before realising my mistake :)

Hee! There's a lot of oddity in this method--it dates back to the 1920s or 30s. I encountered it in my 20s, when I was quite nearsighted. I had moments of brilliant success with it, but lacked the discipline to follow through. Instead, I eventually had corrective eye surgery.
So now my eyes are going the other direction, and I thought I'd try the method again. It's really fun! Seems to be working.
