We really weren't in a lot of danger, and we took a lot of precautions--not the least of which was giving up when the going got rough!

Thank you for worrying, though! That was sweet.

My parents were at the coast last weekend and brought me back a small container of Tillamook White Licorice ice cream. I made it last three days. OMGYUM.

Tillamook is some fine, fine ice cream.

Yay for adventures in the mountains! Yay for the Tillamook Cheese Factory! Boo for feeling more like November than mid-April! Thanks for sharing your pictures. :)

I think one of the things that bugs me most about this bizarro weather we're having is that it allows climate-change naysayers to say, "Global warming? Obviously just a failed election ploy for Al Gore."

But yeah, it was a great little adventure close to home. And to be honest, I don't think I ever before realized quite how spectacular the Coast Range is.

Well, on the brigher side, you saw some spectacular nature scenes, spent great time with your sis and had an experience worthy of the end of your vacation week. Doesn;t sound dull in any way. Topped off with really great ice cream! Perfecto!

You're right--it was a perfectly wonderful day, and I hope I didn't make it sound otherwise. We had a blast, and laughed our asses off quite a lot of the time.

Here's one of the best things about it: I asked the guy at the Tillamook factory to err on the small side in scooping up my single scoop of espresso mocha ice cream. He did. (Mind you, he looked at me like I was from another planet!) It was about a quarter-cup of heavenly deliciousness, and it was the perfect amount.

In short: the seeming food crisis of the other day has passed. It's the most wonderful, amazing thing.
