Fifty-two picked up

A second pass through the ol' wardrobe has resulted in two more bags of clothing donations and a lot more empty space.

My itty-bitty closet is suddenly big enough again. )

It is--but barely. I came very close to the level of ruthlessness that would allow me to give it away. But the Serenity Coat is in a layer that I'll have to deal with later.

At least now it's not jostling for elbow room in that tiny closet.

Your closet transformation is amazing. We can accumulate so many items that are just of no value and literaly laying around taking up space. I'm so impressed with your continued commitment to getting your house completely cleared of un-needed stuff.

I woke up this morning wondering what project I would tackle in the realms of decluttering too. The back closes closet, where I stashed all of my old work clothes (that I will never wear again) called out to me. I suspect I will attack that one today myself.

Your before and after is such a strong story. In the before shot you couldn't even tell there were shelves there! Wow!!! What a great job!

Those work clothes sound like a GREAT next step. They have to carry a powerful freight of memories, good and bad, tied up with things like self-worth.

There's at least one organization that helps young women get into decent jobs by teaching them how to dress and providing them work wardrobes. I love the thought that some of your nice work clothes might wind up doing something like that.

When I was getting ready for bed last night, I opened my closet to hang up my jacket, and was (frankly) kind of freaked out by the neatness of it!

My bedroom is a junk heap. How did this happen??? I used to be a normal person, in terms of mess. Now my house is disappearing under the clutter. :(

I came to view clutter as a kind of addiction. It slowly got worse and worse till I realized I was powerless over it, etc. It's better now, but I still have to be on constant watch.
