It was the most wonderfuly UN-touristy touristy thing we did the entire time, and was a great highlight of the journey!

The big gun theme just kept on being part of the vacation, didn't it? Some fired, some not so much...

We glimpsed them flying (they work VERY hard at that, flapping madly all the time, while gulls and cormorants and terns glide gracefully all around them--they are the comic relief of seabirds) but were a week or two late for their nesting on the Farne Islands.

You live in a beautiful and wonderful country! We had a fabulous time.

I have been soft about puffins since I was a very small child, I would love to get to see them one day.

Next time you are here, I hope you'll visit the beautiful city I live in :-)

It was truly a fabulous trip. We were so busy that I had no time to update this journal, but I will as soon as I've had a look at some of my photos.
