SUDDEN REALISATION

GUYS.

TOM HIDDLESTON (Loki in the new Thor movie) IS MY GOOD OMENS CROWLEY.

He is the Crowley that has sat in my head whenever I've read that book. To a tee. He could not be more perfect if you slapped yellow contacts on him and put him in snakeskin boots. At least, presumably they would be boots.

fandom: thor, epic fucking squee, in my defence: tom hiddleston, movies, fandom: good omens

He's so gorgeous, isn't he? In Thor, in half the scenes I just want to hug him. He'd be a brilliant Crowley.

His interviews, oh hell, have you seen them? He's so cool in them, and guh! Perfect human being.

I have a problem in that I can't actually concentrate on what he's saying because he's so beautiful and then his voice is this utterly orgasmic thing, and because looking at him means going *_* and looking away to listen means going *_*, I can't actually pick up on his words XD. It's just the sound of them, nngh.

In Thor I wanted to scoop him up and take him home and look after him forever. Preferably with lots of sex. XD

Is there actually some kind of plan to make a Good Omens movie? Or do people just like to plan their casts for it...a LOT?

Both! Well, sort of.

1) A TV series has been confirmed, on Terry Pratchett's Twitter I believe (and not on April 1st ^^), so not quite a movie but apparently it is getting adapted.

2) It's one of those books where you definitely have a very specific-to-you vision of how the characters look, so casting-planning happens a lot, yes :). But this is the first time where, instead of going "Hmm, yeah, uh huh, I can kind of see that" at other people's suggestions, I've actually found myself going "OH MY GOD THAT IS ACTUALLY HIM. THERE. IN FRONT OF ME. THAT IS CROWLEY." XD

Well, I've read Good Omens. I think it would make a better movie than a TV show, but maybe if it's just one of those short British miniseries type things, it would work. Like five episodes long or something.

The thought of the adaptation fills me with a strange sort of hopeful apathy. I want it to be good, I have a reasonably good feeling about it, but I won't be devastated if it's a mess!

*_* Yeah, would so be okay with him as Crowley that it isn't funny. XD

Now I really have to go see Thor, and pay veerrrry close attention to Loki while watching it. Not that I wouldn't anyway, as Loki is always an attention-grabber, but this is just more reason. :3

:D he's more manipulative than trickster-ish in the movie, though he definitely has some epic skills, but watching that movie a second time had me going *_* at how perfectly perfect he would be as Crowley - the fact you never know entirely what's going on inside his head and the fact you sympathise with him SO MUCH for an apparent bad guy, plus the whole look, it's just - :D. <3 <3 <3

I just discovered one of my friends is related to Tom Hiddleston. They're cousins, but unfortunately, it's the side of family she's never had much contact with...sigh.

But it's still a bit weird having a geekspasm about Loki, knowing that. :P

And yes, Thor is amazing! I want to see it again. It's reignited my nerdy interest in Norse mythology. =]

XD that's like when I found out my dad's cousin Paul just happened to help produce Live 8, not to mention several of the Teen Awards, and had met Johnny Depp. SIGH.

So many myths and legends are awesome, but the Norse myths are definitely the most flat-out badass. :D

I STILL HAVEN'T SEEN MY AZIRAPHALE. ;_;

I have a "tolerable" list - people where I would still go "hmm :(" at them playing Aziraphale, but I wouldn't go "WTF NOOOOOO D:<" - but no one has made me go OMG HEAD CANON AZIRAPHALE WUT.

But seeing this guy is definitely exciting. HALF MY ALL-TIME BOOK-BASED OTP HAS NOW BEEN DISCOVERED IN THE REAL WORLD. Just need to find the other half. XD
