I'm a little torn about this one. I really love the beginning- I think both characters are excellently written and Mick's care is genuine (and so is Josef's deflection). But at the same time, I don't really 'see' them sitting anywhere holding hands, or walking with their arms around each other's waist. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but it seems a very, I dunno, 'oxford' thing to do, something I don't feel fits Mick very well.

You used the prompt very well and very fitting to the genre, though. Autumn, or seasons, would be something most immortals get weary about at some point :)

I've been thinking a lot about what you've said, you know I always try to take concrit on board in a positive way. Having thought about it, I think you're right, and I can see where I went wrong in this regard. I was trying to have sort of a subtle undercurrent running through the story that while Mick's lamenting the loss of past loves he's had Josef there by his side the whole time, only he hasn't realised it - not at least till that night. The whole 'casual affection' thing was part of that, only I think I needed to add something in, a line or two, that explained it a bit better - rather than just having them act like a couple when for the majority of the story both are working from the assumption that they're just good friends. Trouble is the LAS competition rules mean there's a 1000 word maximum on all fics, even so, I still probably had some room to just add something in so that that made a bit more sense.

Thanks for the comment, and for the concrit. I love that you leave such thoughtful reviews. *hugs*

That's good, because I do meant it positive ;) I understood what you wanted with it, and like I said, I did really enjoy the dialogue :)

When's the next LAS round and how many stories will be in it? :)
