Y'know. I'm just not feeling Fili and Kili like I'm feeling Thorin. But I think you're on the right track.

Not that it matters in the slightest since they all die. WTF is up with that? I thought the Hobbit was supposed to be lighter than LotR? And yet the death toll?

Thorin, Fili and Kili all die at the Battle of Five Armies. And Balin dies when the Orcs trash Moria.
