Oh Mia, thank you so much. I love that you knew it was Hunith. :D And then you pick out my favourite paragraphs, too.

I thought about having them get to Mexico, but it didn't feel right, so I wanted to make this ending about freedom and choice instead. It felt much truer to both the story and them.

And oh, Arthur. I loved the idea of the reader just getting glimpses of him and his issues and hopefully seeing him clearly from that. <3

Wow. It's incredible how well the girls fit into the characters from the film. Oh, Morgana, she just absolutely kills me, the wildness and the longing for Gwen, and the way you describe Gwen (not that I don't love her otherwise) makes me want her as much as Morgana does. There's some really gorgeous imagery in here, and much as I wish they could have had a happy ending, this really is inevitable.

Merlin kind of breaks my heart in this, also, because he fits so well into the part of the cop who really just wants to help.

Also, when you first said you were doing this film, I immediately

(...and I read this while off-line, and apparently failed to paste the last part of my comment! Whoops.)

Also, when you first said you were doing this film, I immediately thought Arthur would be taking Brad Pitt's part, but the fact that it's Lancelot - and that he goes to the police with the money, god, of course he does, he's Lancelot - is just fantastic.

Just all around wonderful. :D

I'm so happy to hear that you think they fit with their roles! I worried over who I could plausibly make into the bad guys when I planned this out - Valiant felt simple and right, Mordred got bent to fit the plot but I can live with that (much better than making Arthur into Gwen's bastard of a husband) but I didn't know what to do about the hitchhiker kid. Until Lancelot clicked into place, attraction to Gwen and noble intentions and all.

Thanks so much.

Finally got a chance to read this and I just wanted to let you know how much I loved it. I was so pleasantly surprised how much the movie worked with Morgana and Gwen. And the end! Oh my heart.

This is beautiful and heart-wrenching, because the Merlin-verse has set both of these women up to fail and they're still exercising agency and trying to find a way to deal with it. Very well done.

This story for me is a lot about making choices and finding agency when you don't really have any, so I'm so glad you saw that theme. Thank you!
