The first thing to indicate that he's there is the suddenly dead wolf with a dagger sticking out of its throat.]

A suddenly dead wolf is something she definitely WASN'T expecting, and when she sees it fall over, she stops in her tracks, obviously surprised. It doesn't take her long to turn, to see who the mystery helper is.]

[He says it casually even as he draws his sword and flicks his left wrist at the same time. The second dagger lands in the chest of another wolf, painful but not mortal. Just as casually he marches towards the injured beast and squares off against it.]

[Not quite as casually --or as easily, really, because Italian, with a Japanese accent, sounds a little silly-- but she offers a small smile anyway. It's short-lived, because watching him matched against those monsters is seriously surprising to watch. In any case, she's not about to be useless or helpless if she can help it, so she reaches for the closest potential weapon: a discarded wooden board.]
