that Maj bought me a book on Mother Teresa (A Simple Path) and it's WONDERFUL!! I was reading it on the metro last night and got to a section on love: "Love until it hurts" says Mother Teresa. Denying yourself joy or pain (the two usually come together), giving in to the fear of it, is denying life. Like you say, "live to the point of tears"

I think I learned a lot about myself and my capacity to love last year. It hurt a lot at times, a lot of the time, but it was wonderful at the same time. I think it does make you stronger. And it shows you just how powerful you are and your heart is. It shows just how much room there is for love.

Maja was the one who told me this once this past summer:
"Why live with your heart so wide open when it hurts all the time?
Because living with your heart closed isn't living at all."
