( continued from here )

The way Grant made Lauren feel never failed; it felt like the first time they kissed all over again. That desperation that was filled with hope and a plethora of other emotions. She was scared when it happened, but never regretted her actions. If faced with the option, she would go through it all over again because it meant ( Read more... )

There just weren't words to describe what Grant felt when he was around Lauren. He was glad that his mother never brought up their conversation from the first time he'd brought her to his parents. It had made him insecure, but after constantly being around her, he couldn't help but put all of those thoughts away. He would rather enjoy what they had when he had it. Even if it meant he was being naive.

Life had been so much different with her in it; he'd never felt so whole, and complete. If she ever left Grant was sure he would fall apart.

As she moved beneath him he moved to reclaim her lips again, this time his kiss more soft and sincere. He pulled away so they could breathe and rested his head against hers so he could smile down at her. "I've wanted to do that all day."

Lauren knew something went on between Grant and his mother. Of course, she was curious about what happened, but she knew it was none of her business to ask. Therefore she left it at that. If she had known or heard the conversation Grant had she would have been wounded deeply.

She wrapped one of her arms around his neck to pull him closer as she leaned up into the kiss; it was soft and sincere, but she wanted to hold him there. When he broke the kiss, Lauren smiled up at him. "So have I."

He knew if she had known it would have utterly devastate Lauren. And for that reason, and because he was afraid it would hurt their relationship, he didn't tell her.

Grant smiled as she held him close to her, his heart beating roughly in his chest. There were times he was sure she'd make it explode. And he wouldn't mind if it did. "Thank you for showing me your school, and helping me with the Christmas."

Sharing those things with her was a nice experience. He wanted to know where she worked, the children she loved so much, and watch her in her environment. As well as share the holidays and new experiences with her.

"You're welcome, sweetheart." She wanted to share every aspect of her life with him and she was happy he was interested. Too many times Lauren heard about how horrible her coworkers boyfriends and husbands were due to them not being interested. Lauren knew all about having a horrible boyfriend, but Grant made up for everything. In fact, she forgot about everything that had ever gone wrong in her life when he was around.

"My students seemed to like you. Might have to have you come back again and tell them what you do. I'll have to clear it with my boss and send out a permission slip when and if it gets approved to let their families know." With her free hand, she reached up and started to run her hand over the short hair on the back of his head.
