Definitely the other way around, Tom Lehrer wrote this in the 1950s, before Billy Crystal was born! When I was little my parents would see Lehrer at Harvard coffee shops and bars (he was a Professor of Math at Harvard and did this for fun at night), they bought all his records which we loved as children.... Then he was more well known in the 1960s & 1970s.... but it was hard to find his records after that, and now everything is on YouTube!
Holy crap! It's that same Tom Lehrer that my parents used to listen to in the late 60's? I never even put 2 and 2 and together there with the name. Wow, Lehrer's humour really was ahead of its time - I would think that very little humour from the 50's would still sound so contemporary!
Aw, bless. I was introducing Helen to him when we were driving up to Cambridge. It's kind of hard to realise how much he was pushing the line with songs like this when it has since been moved so much further on.
