SO HOW WAS EVERYONE'S SUMMER???

Mine was pretty great--went to a few concerts, read some great books, saw a ton of awesome movies--and I just started at my big shiny new college yesterday and I think I'm really gonna enjoy this semester. Probably. x ( Read more... )

My summer was good--I moved into a new, bigger apartment which has been really nice.

Also had Californian relatives over for a visit - what a mental breather that was for me! I was finally able to live out my American spirit again... so liberating! X3

Haha, we've been swerving between 60-something degrees and 90, so it's always a surprise!

Oh, that sounds like fun! I guess there would be stuff you'd only be able to talk about with American relatives, huh? I never thought about that...

Thanks! Honestly, my biggest concern is getting lost; the campus is just So Very Huge. ^^; LOL, true!

Argh! Dunno about you, but I really struggle when temperatures swerve so strongly :/

It's not necessarily about -what- we talk about; it's -how- we talk. It's a different mentality that factors into the discussion. For example: if you breach a touchy topic with non-Americans, you may move on to a different topic, but a sour taste from before will linger. With pretty much all Americans I've talked to so far (as far as I can remember), even after discussing touchy things, a new topic was like a fresh start. And I just... I dunno, I guess I talk differently with Americans. Mom always says it's like watching a flower bloom :)

Sounds like I would need a GPS for that campus, lol!

Happy Birthday ^_^ Hope the college is fun!

It's been a summer of transitions for me. Moved out of my parents' place to an apartment, then moved with roommate to a condo. Got a temp job working nights 48 hours a week. The World of Darkness game I run is going well. I'm occasionally working on stories and adding stuff to my goodreads account. The only movie I saw was Age of Ultron and I'm a little sour on it. But, in some ways, I'm getting my shit together.
