Some caveats to make sure you're on the same page as me:

1. Fantasy (aka human-only) AUs rub me the wrong way. Changing character identities and transplanting them into whole new worlds do not Buffy-and-Spike make, regardless of how good the writing is.

hmm, I got here through your seasonal spuffy post.... I've read about 2/3 of the stuff on your list, and they're all on my own favorites list! but the best thing is the 1/3 I haven't read! thanks for the suggestions!

Here via seasonal_spuffy... I've read all of these, and so far I can't argue with your taste. I like the substantial paragraphs you're writing, and that you're not shy about noting the flaws in otherwise excellent stories. Nice work.

Thank you! I wrote these recs to share the stories with others as well as for myself. I've read so many spuffy fics, I'm beginning to forget some of the better ones. So this is also very much my own spiffy reference list. There are lots of recs out there, but I want this one to be different. Maybe in the sense that if I take so much effort to write these chunks, I really think the story is worth that go, lol.

Welcome! And oh yes, Annie's writing is incredible. I'll have to check Angels of Silences again. Can't remember offhand what that one is all about. Annie's "Nineteen Hours" is one of the most hopeful spuffy fics I've ever read though, so maybe you might want to add it to your list.

The Butterfly Effect was the first good spuffy long-fic I read in the fandom and I managed to acquire a copy of the half-finished "Ripples" as well. That one was shaping up nicely to be a babyfic, but too bad it'll never be completed.

Most of cousinjean's works can be found at All About Spike except for the two I've listed. I'm also looking for the porntastic photo-booth PWP that comes with the Butterfly Effect, do you have any idea where I can get that?

hi. thanks for this list. kinda found it while looking for spuffy fic recs. was wondering though if u know where i can find the butterfly effect by cousinjean? ive clicked on the link and one from randomthoughts but i cant seem to find it. givin my thanks ahead of time. :)

hey. thanks for that. been a while since i last checked but finally got hold of the butterfly effect. but i still can't find the 19 Hours fic. u still got a copy? :)
