WEIRD! labyrinthman and i were just talking about sopapillas yesterday before you posted this. the discussion was about how it's probably good that i don't make them because i'd want them weekly, hahahaha.

This is the recipe I used. The oil didn't need to be at 400* for ours to puff out though -- more like 275-325*.
