I heard lots of thunder and went outside and just got hot dry air. At like 10 o'clock at night. I think it was that storm in that picture. I wanted rain! So dissapointing.
I saw the posts about going to the petrified forest. I'm sure you already know this, but I wanted to point it out just in case. I've been through a couple of times, and as far as I recall, there is no shade and very little foliage. Shrubs are small, and the temperature isn't a whole lot better than phoenix. It sounds like you've already got experience with dehydration, so you know, bring lots of water, a lot more than you think you need. Nag session over.
I need to call you and find out what your research is, it sounds interesting, from what I know about it. A) its related to deserts, and B) it excited a room of probably scientists :P. What could be more compelling?
