Haha, it's been kind of working. What's been working much better is acknowledging (sometimes out loud) that I can't do anything about the field exam until tomorrow, but looking ahead to OTHER things that need to be done shortly after the field exam ends on the 20th and taking care of those things in advance. That way I know that immediately after the 20th I won't have 20938039280832324 things demanding immediate attention...
