Even though you are worrying you are MAKING ME JEALOUS OF YOUR TRAVELS. STOP DOING THAT.

I WILL BE DOING FUN THINGS TOO. and also blood tests

I will tell you though, in a vain attempt to quell your worries, that the last time I used EasyJet on my own nothing went wrong. Although, if it does go wrong, you'll be with a plane full of people in the same boat (so to speak. At least, I hope nothing would go that wrong) so... that'd be better that being stranded with no one?

Also, the German train-changes should be manageable without full grasp of the language. Germanic language powers go!

NO. BECAUSE YOU ARE HAVING AWESOME PEOPLE STAY WITH YOU AND I AM JEALOUS TOO.

OK, that does make me feel slightly better, although AAAAAAAAAAAAAH. yes. I NEED TO REMIND MEYSLEF THAT GERMANY IS MUCH CLOSER TO HOME THAN NY,USA IS.

;_; I WILL BE TIRED FROM 4+ HOURS OF TRAVEL. My grasp of english will be loose by then.

WE COULD HAVE A JEALOUS PARTY.

ALSO, YOU CAN WAVE TO EUROPE AS YOU GO BY. That's more fun than Atlantic Ocean.

Perhaps you should just have a range of pre-painted signs that you can fix around your neck at the appropriate times and allow kindly passers-by to guide you.

PARTY RINGS OF JEALOUSY. I like the way you think.

YES. HELLO FRANCE, BELGIUM AND THE NETHERLANDS!

Yes, that is a plan. JUST CALL ME PADDINGTON and feed me Marmalade Sandwiches. DEEPEST DARKEST SURREY.

Aaaah ;__; I'm sorry. Uhm, uhm, I was going to suggest flying to Cologne/Bonn with a cheap airline, but it seems it's not too convenient for you after all? If Heidelberg is the final goal and you'll have to fly anyway despite hating it, going to an airport further south in Germany might be your better bet... (I can research a little, if you want ( ... )

Yes. ;_; I might end up flying, it'd be cheaper and quicker.

Actually being collected and packed on the right train would be utterly fantastic (I'd be seriously tempted to drag you with me! I really don't think Sarah would mind. ;)) thank you so much! ;3;

(I'm either coming over on the 13th or the 14th - I'm waiting on Sarah's more detailed itinery so that I book the right day. But as far as I know, we are definitely coming to you on the 18th!)

Aaaaah man, don't tempt me, I'd love to come with. But I have some annoying stuff to do on the 16th... and on the 14th (but that's only in the evening, I should still be able to collect/help you during the day should you come on that day). Just give me a poke when you know more. :)

Actually, if you fly in to Cologne/Bonn then you'd probably need to take an ICE train to Mannheim/Heidelberg. I've only ever used ICEs once before in my life so I'm not entirely sure, but I think they need preorders. And they can get disgustingly expensive... though there are good discounts for tourists from abroad. If you need help with figuring that stuff out, scream.

(Alternatively, the closest international airports to Heidelberg would be either Frankfurt or Stuttgart. But that's already really far in the south, I couldn't help you as easily there, and you'd still need trains after that, so I'm not sure if that's even be a better option...)

I shall refrain, since I owe you a lot already. ;3;
Awesome, will do!

I did read that I'd probably need an ICE train. I have a link to the website for ordering them bookmarked, so hopefully that shouldn't be too difficult.

(Yeah, I think I'll stick to Cologne/Bonn if I fly. :) )

I think you have neatly encapsulated the two main reasons why I never go anywhere - the cost, and travelling alone really rather sucks.

Nevertheless, I am envious that you are braving these two factors and going anyway. Good luck on your travels! I'm sure things will work out, and when you actually get to your destination you'll have awesome times and forget all about how rubbish the flying/changing trains is.

/nothing to offer but moral support

I try to avoid as much as possible.
And then I do crazy things like FLYING TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES TO HANG OUT WITH PEOPLE I'VE NEVER MET BEFORE. orz

Thank you! Yes, I shall. They will and I will. And then I have the fun of doing it on the way back too! \o/

/hugs

HAHA, YEAH!

I mean, NOTHING WILL STOP ME. I'm just getting the flailing panic out of the way now.

I think I'm gonna end up flying, there'll be less "OMG GHANGE TO X" stress, even though I'm not fond of planes.

THANK YOU!
