I didn't feel like looking yesterday... and today, I wasn't in a mood to check my messages. I just have a general yuck feeling towards the whole thing, which isn't really aided by the fact that where I work now is really starting to depress me ( Read more... )

Keep a few things in mind.

They often don't "miss" the fact that you don't want contracts. They figure that if they ask you, you might change your mind. Remember, recruiters are essentially salespeople. They believe that they make their money by changing peoples' minds about things that their firmly decided on. "Coffee is for closers!"

Consider also that what you do (from what I gather, anyway) is both rare and diverse. This is going to lead people to ask you about positions that you're not a match for, simply because they can't find anyone to fill these positions, so they might as well try throwing you at it to see if you stick. :)

As for the one who thought you're an electrical engineer... that one's just a moron. :)

hahaha. Well, yeah, on the EE one. I mean, if you need them to be that, shouldn't you make sure of what degree they have ( ... )
