I have been chipping away on the doll that was inspired by my trips to Centralia, PA. My new way too soft clay is giving me fits. I swear they reformulated it and made it SUCK. But here she is:

The base is really beautiful. Is she going to be dryad-ish or is she just enjoying the tree?

Seated in the tree yes. I had the idea that as the guardian of that place she failed miserably and since she is also tied to it, she has to stand silent witness to it's slow smouldering. I plan to make her appear as though she is smouldering along with the land... We'll see if I can pull that off!
