Day 25 - Favourite Sherlock actor
Don't make me choose again!! They're all so awesome - not just Benedict and Martin - but all of them! So perfect for their roles, it's one of the many lovable things about this show. If I had to choose though...okay, we'll go for whoever I have seen/heard in the most things (in an acting ( Read more... )

Agreed on both counts (and also on the it's-really-difficult-to-choose count...) :-)

Also, I love that picture of BC--he looks like he's 12...

Hi! I was going through your posts since we seem to share quite a few fandom interests :-)
I agree that Rickman was fantastic, but I felt that in the last instalments the age difference between book and film Snape was too big, really.
Rickman was always too old for the role, but at first it could be because of his characater's (very, very sucky) life... In the end, though, he wasn't the gaunt figure I had always pictured book Snape as. Although the voice did make up for a lot of it, because hey, threats and hissy fits and spitting rages? Rickman did deliver! (also, THE ANGST OMG).
What do you think?

Hey! :) Awesome, that's half the reason I do these things; love meeting people with similar interests. :)

I get what you mean about him being too old, but I can't think of anyone else who could have done a better job and I can't say it ever struck as bothering me at all. I think as you say, the character's sucky life could play a part! I never really pictured Snape as looking young though; no matter what his actual age it just didn't fit. And, I think anyway, his acting more than makes up for any age discrepency - especially in the last film!!

To be honest I think he fitted the part of Snape, appearence and all, far, FAR better than Michael Gambon fitted Dumbledore. I mean no offence to Gambon, he is a great actor, but he was never Dumbledore for me.
